Export metrics

Learn how to export your metrics and already entered values from Contributions, to keep a backup or get a base file for re-importing.

Your metrics bring together all the numerical data you collect in Tenacy, period after period. From the Contributions section, you can export this data to an Excel file at any time. This export is especially useful before a bulk correction or a new import: it lets you keep an accurate copy of your current values, which you can reuse if needed.

Step 1: access the export

Go to Contributions, then open the Metrics tab. Click the arrow in the top right corner of the view, then select Export XLS.
The file downloads automatically. It includes all the metrics accessible from this view, along with the values already entered for each one.

Step 2: understand the exported file

The file follows the same structure expected for an import: one column per metric and one row per collection period already filled in. As with an import, the date associated with each value corresponds to the first day of the following period. For example, the value for January is associated with the date February 1st.

💡 Only metrics that have already received at least one value appear with their history in the exported file.

Step 3: use the export as a backup or a base for re-import

Before making any bulk correction to your metrics, export your file first: this gives you a copy of your current data, which you can re-import if an error occurs during the change.
If you only want to correct certain metrics, you can remove the columns that don't concern you from the exported file before re-importing it. This reduces the risk of errors during the re-import.

⚠️ Always keep a copy of the initial export before modifying and re-importing your file. If a mistake is made, it will let you go back to the previous state.

Expected result

You now have an Excel file containing all your metrics and the values already entered. You can keep it as a backup, use it to analyze your data outside of Tenacy, or edit it to re-import it into Tenacy.
