Whether following a merger, a structural change, or simply to better reflect your company's organization, you may need to reorganize your tree structure.
Tenacy offers several ways to do this depending on your needs:
Move a perimeter within the same tree
Move an entire grouping within the same tree
Transfer a perimeter to a secondary tree

Global pilots have access to all trees and all perimeters: they can freely transfer and move perimeters and groupings.
Local pilots at grouping level can see their entire grouping and can move elements within it (for example, within a sub-grouping).
Local pilots at perimeter level only have visibility on that perimeter, without seeing the structure above it: they don't have access to these actions.
Auditors and contributors cannot modify the tree structure.
1. Move a perimeter within the same tree
💡 A perimeter can only be in one place within a given tree. Moving it to a new location automatically removes its previous position in that tree.
Hover over the perimeter you want to move, then click the move arrows that appear.
Click the destination grouping or root to select it.
Click "Move" to confirm.
The perimeter immediately appears in its new position in the tree. All its security data is preserved, and the compliance scores of both the original grouping and the destination grouping are recalculated in real time.
⚠️ Moving a perimeter can change the visibility of the objects it contains for some users. Be sure to review access rights after moving it.
2. Move a grouping within the same tree
If you need to reorganize several perimeters at once (merging groupings, restructuring, streamlining your tree), consider moving the grouping directly instead of moving each perimeter individually or using an import. All the perimeters it contains, as well as the objects attached to them (projects, gaps, actions, etc.), are moved automatically along with it.
Hover over the grouping you want to move, then click the move arrows that appear.
Click the destination grouping or root to select it.
Click "Move" to confirm.

3. Transfer a perimeter to a secondary tree
A secondary tree is an alternative organizational view of your main tree: it lets you group your perimeters according to a different logic (by region, entity type, subsidiary, etc.) without duplicating your data.
Unlike moving within the same tree, a perimeter can exist in several trees at once: it is never duplicated, only its position within each tree changes.
Add the perimeter to the secondary tree
Go to the secondary tree you want to work in.
Hover over the grouping where you want to add the perimeter (the root grouping or a secondary grouping): a "+" button appears.
Click "+" to choose the type of element to add, then select "Existing element".
In the dropdown that appears, select the perimeter to add: internal perimeter, application perimeter, or supplier perimeter.
The perimeter now appears in the secondary tree, in addition to its original tree(s).
Remove the perimeter from the original tree (optional)
Once the perimeter has been added to the secondary tree, you can choose to remove it from its original tree to complete the transfer.
If the perimeter exists in several trees, removing it from one tree only removes it from that tree: it remains visible and intact in the others.
If this is its last remaining tree, a modal will warn you that its data will be permanently deleted before asking you to confirm.
⚠️ Always check how many trees the perimeter appears in before removing it from one, to avoid unintentional data loss.

Can the same perimeter be in two different places within the same tree?
No. A perimeter can only appear once within a given tree. To make it appear elsewhere without duplicating it, use a secondary tree.
Can a perimeter belong to several trees at the same time?
Yes. A perimeter can only appear once within a given tree, but it can be present in several different trees at the same time.
What happens if I add a perimeter to a secondary tree without removing it from the original tree?
It appears in both trees. This isn't really a move, but an addition: the perimeter remains visible and intact in its original tree. The secondary tree lets you consolidate your data along other lines, for example for reporting purposes.
How do I know if removing a perimeter from a tree will permanently delete it?
If the tree in question is the perimeter's last remaining tree, a modal will warn you before you confirm. Otherwise, the perimeter remains available in its other trees.
Can I move several perimeters to a secondary tree at once?
Moving a grouping only works within a single tree: it doesn't let you transfer to a secondary tree.
Can a contributor transfer a perimeter to a secondary tree?
No. Only global pilots and local pilots at grouping level have access to these actions, depending on their scope of responsibility. Auditors and contributors cannot modify the tree structure.
