In a complex organization, a cross-cutting action plan (group-wide, regulatory, project) attached to the root perimeter often spreads its actions across several local perimeters. The "Visible by everyone" option makes this plan and all its groups visible to the relevant local users, while strictly preserving the confidentiality of each perimeter's actions.
Each local user thus gains the context in which their actions belong: where they sit within the plan and which group logic they answer to.
What the "Visible by everyone" option makes visible
Global pilots can choose to make an action plan "Visible by everyone" using a checkbox. By default, this box is unchecked, so the action plan is not visible by everyone.
When the option is enabled, any user can see:
the action plan in their plan list;
all of its groups, which restores the structure and the steps of the plan;
only their own actions — those attached to their perimeter in the case of a local pilot or local auditor, and those directly assigned to them in the case of a contributor.
⚠️ The visibility of individual actions remains filtered by perimeter. No one sees actions outside their perimeter: only the plan's structure (the plan and its groups) becomes visible.
What a local user sees when the option is unchecked
When the option is not enabled (the default behavior of an action plan), local pilots and local auditors do not see plans attached to perimeters outside their scope in the plan list. They only access their own actions, presented as a flat list, without the parent plan or the groups that organize them.
Example: Consider a local pilot attached to a France perimeter, itself attached to an EMEA grouping. They do see the France perimeter's actions in the All actions view, but not the action plan attached to EMEA in which those actions are filed. They therefore handle their actions without knowing which plan they belong to or which step of the plan they correspond to.
When the "Visible by everyone" option is disabled, each action thus remains visible and workable, but detached from its context: the local user does not know which plan it belongs to or which group it corresponds to.
Enabling the "Visible by everyone" option does not change this action scope: it only adds the ability to view the plan and its groups.
Action plan data is scoped to the user's perimeter
For a local pilot or auditor, the data displayed at the plan level is calculated on their perimeter alone, never on the whole plan. This applies to progress, the number of groups involved, the number of actions, workload, cost and anomalies.
A local pilot cannot act (edit, hide or delete) on a plan that is not attached to their perimeter. They can view its context without being able to modify the cross-cutting plan.
Enabling the option on an action plan
In the action plan list, click the three-dot menu at the end of the relevant action plan's row > Edit. In the action plan edit panel, tick the "Visible by everyone" checkbox. Users can then access it with their context. To return to restricted visibility, untick the box.
