When a contributor finalizes an action in Tenacy, this validation can have significant effects on your cyber program: updating an effectiveness score on measure, implementing a security measure, closing a gap, an incident, an exemption, or a linked project. To secure these effects, two behaviors are possible when finalizing an action, depending on the configuration chosen by your organization.
To find out which case applies to you as a contributor: if the "Finished" button remains clickable on your actions, you are in the first case below. If it appears grayed out, you are in the second.
Case 1: the "Finished" button is clickable in an action
You can finalize your action normally, as before. When you click "Finished", a pop-up summarizes the objects linked to your action to confirm, for example:
Improving or implementing a security measure
Closing a gap
Closing an incident or an exemption
Closing a linked project
By confirming, these impacts are applied immediately: the action is marked as done and the linked objects are updated at the same time.
Case 2: the "Finished" button is grayed out
You can no longer finalize the action yourself. Only the "To review" status is available, and the "Finished" status is grayed out.
This status signals that the action is ready to be reviewed by a pilot before its impacts are applied.
The pilot is then notified and finds your action in a dedicated view for actions to review. They see the same expected impacts as those described in the first case, then confirms the validation of the action. It is this validation by the pilot that applies the impacts — not your move to "To review."
Expected result
If the "Finished" button was clickable, your action moves directly to that status after the impacts are confirmed.
If the "Finished" button was grayed out, your action displays the "To review" status until the pilot validates it.
